5 Basic Requirements for a VA Loan
BASIC ELIGIBILITY - VA LOAN - The 5 basic criteria required to qualify for a VA loan center around your Service Time and will apply to active duty, peacetime or enlisted veterans. If you fall into any of the following categories you will qualify for a VA Loan:
- 1. You were honerably discharged during WWII and are an active duty veteran.
- 2. Served 90 consecutive days during a major conflict.
- 3. You are a peacetime Veteran or active duty personnel with 180 days of consecutive service.
- 4. Have served 2 years, are an enlisted veteran with service dates after 1980.
- 5. Have served 2 years, are an enlisted officer with service dates after 1981.

VA requires all elgible veterans to fill out these two forms, These are basically verifying your service dates.
